Consultant, Associate Producer—Spring 2011
When Original Media was finishing up production on NY Ink, a reality TV show set in a tattoo parlor in New York City, two of my Wharton classmates and I were approached to help them form the business plan for their ongoing retail operation, Wooster St. Social Club.
Business Model Design
Through research into the tattoo market, interviews with key personnel of the operation, and financial modeling, my team and I created projections for the startup based on reasonable assumptions. The company used our work to support resource allocation, hiring, and their go to market strategy.
Market Research
We also explored how the company could differentiate itself within the New York City tattoo parlor market. Through further market research and interviews with outside experts, we provided recommendations surrounding other potential revenue streams that the company was considering such as selling artwork and merchandise.
